Attitude

Have you heard one of your friend or maybe an acquaintances saying “If you can’t accept me for who I am you better get lost!” or “I am who I am if you will not accept me then go!” or any statement close to that? And maybe, you yourself is saying that. Well, obviously everyone has an attitude, be it good or bad. We all posses that kind of attribute and no one is exempted. I sometime overheard that they can’t change the way they are, and if they do change who they are then definitely its not going to be them anymore. The last part is correct!
I remember a talk about a young couple who have some arguments inside their car with their baby along with them. To much frustration during the heated discussion inside the car one of them throw to another a toy that bounce back to their baby and hit the head. They rushed to the hospital and that forever changed the life of their kid. Their kid has been disabled because the brain was affected by the impact of the object that bounced inside the car.

Small things can have a great impact in our lives. We always have a choice. The choices we will be making everyday will definitely creates ripples that will change our future if we are not careful enough to bridle our bad attitudes. So the saying that we can’t change is definitely our choice.

Changing to be a better person is worth seeking. Though it may require a lot efforts on our part but I know that’s definitely going to paid off. We can’t always blame what’s happening to us to other individuals or the government. That is already out of our control. Changing the way we treat other people, the way we see them and their potentials will definitely change what’s inside us. Just ask yourself this ‘do you like yourself that way you think about other people?’ ‘what if you are in their situation? Would you respond to the challenge the way they did?’Attitude can make us, or break us. Again, its your choice. For us, and to those who may read this, we only have three choices;

  1. Be Good
  2. Be Better
  3. Be the Best

Your choice!

Pensieve

Falling in love is a Magic, and so is writing. Any writer can attest, in the luckiest, happiest state, that the words are not coming from you but through you.

Well, the phrase above holds to be true in so many writers around the world. The statement above was from the movie, Ruby Sparks. A movie about a character named Calvin, who’s a writer in the movie, a famous writer. Calvin started to write a fictitious character named Ruby Sparks. During the writing of Calvin he would dream about her, and starting to fall in love with Ruby Sparks. Surprisingly, the character came into life. And everything he writes about her came into reality. As to movie goes deeper complications with relationship between Calvin and Ruby started to sneak in. I guess all relationship does have complications. Well, I can’t write about all of it. I would recommend that you watch it. To me, it was worth spending time. I hope it will do the same to you.

I’m a newbie when in it comes to writing. I really don’t know if sometimes my grammar construction are incorrect. To me, what is important, is that my readers can comprehend what is on my mind and that it make sense to them when they read it. Of course, I do write in my personal journal. Whatever it is I wrote in my journal are free from scrutiny from anyone else, but me. When I realize that my grammar construction are seemed to be incorrect or doesn’t seem to be conveying the real message which is intended to, I do some corrections on it by writing just a little above what I wrote. Surely, it will look untidy, but that’s how I see my improvements in writing. And to add it’s a pen and ink and I have no way of deleting it like computer does.

It’s true that to get into writing we should write whatever that is bugging on our minds. It’s an excellent way of expressing ourselves when we don’t have someone to talk to. Through it, we will be surprise if we reread our work after a year. And I do believe that our writing will improve too. It is a good habit to write some everyday experiences, especially those that touched our hearts, even though it’s only a few sentences. Out of small things are great things brought to pass. Remember the Harry Potter series? Dumbledore have a Pensieve where when he wanted to recall what happen he just drop some memories coming from a small tube. So Diaries, Journals, and nowadays Blogs are very helpful in keeping our own history. It is a good Legacy we can give to future generations.

I do not intend this blog post to be long. But thank you for dropping by. Have a good one folks!

The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe. Gustave Flaubert

Thoughts…..

I’m not feeling well as I am writing this first post. I did not report today for work. Now, this give me enough time to think upon a lot things like what I did in the past that did benefit my future which I am living that life at this present time.

While I am contemplating upon these things it suddenly came to my mind the famous phrase or I might say question that we always asked to our friends who wanted to know more about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ which is “What is the purpose of life?”

If you are reading this, you might want to ask yourself the same question. I also asked the same question to myself many times since I was young. My mother when I was young would always ask me “what is your dream?” I would then respond to her as far as I can remember that I would like to be a “lawyer.” Now this kind of responses was a response of a kid aging to 5 to 6 years old,  as I can remember my age way back then, is that I have no clue of what I am talking about. I believe you might have similar experiences like mine with those kind of responses to the question asked by older acquaintances of ours.

As we grow older and we then realized that some of those dreams we might have when we were kids did not come into reality. There are a lot of factors that might have occurred during our growing days. The environment we  grew up, the way our parents trained us, our peers also are great contributors of our decision-making of what field we are going to pursue, religion also have some factors, and all others things that might have changed the way we act, think, and do things. Some of us have the opportunity to live our dreams and most did not.

Those that did make it to live their dreams had goals set, and worked hard to achieve it. Those that did make it did not do it alone. They must have some form of leverage to achieve such a goal. I’m certain that there are a lot of books already written how to achieve goals we’ve set in our lives and certainly those books written can help us realize our dreams. Every successes in life all but have sacrifices made. In the real world life is not easy, it shouldn’t be easy because that is how we should grow and become mature of all the challenges life has to offer.

Beyond all these achievements in life we have had and more to come as we age. The question now is what is the meaning in all of these achievements? I remember the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom saying “So many people walk around with meaningless life. They seem half asleep when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they are chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to community around you, and devote yourself to create something that gives you purpose and meaning.” I believe in this statement. The more we achieved things in life the more people we can help and give them power to define their destiny.

I always love the story of Jesus and for the record it touches billion of lives from our past, present, and future. He created Earth and all things that are in it. Yet he came to serve us and show us the way how we should live our lives. His teachings taught us about life and how we could be happy and contented. He’d shown the purpose of life. Now, my question is, what is your life’s purpose? Only you, can determine the answer to that question.
